'Poor Things' streaming date confirmed: Here's when you can watch it (2024)

'Poor Things' streaming date confirmed: Here's when you can watch it (1)

"Poor Things" has been a critical hit this awards season. This movie from Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos is an adaptation of Alasdair Gray's 1992 novel about Bella Baxter, a reanimated corpse with a baby's brain that goes on a journey of self-discovery and debauchery as her intelligence quickly grows to adulthood. It has been nominated for and won numerous awards already, including two wins at the 2024 Golden Globes.

Given that one of these wins was for Best Picture - Musical or Comedy, it's not a surprise that this movie was subsequently nominated for an impressive 11 Academy Awards, including a Best Picture nomination. "Oppenheimer" is still the clear front-runner to win the coveted Oscar, but having seen both movies, I still feel confident Christopher Nolan's film takes home the top prize. However, "Poor Things" is the most likely movie to win over it. It's just that good.

Currently, you can watch this award-winning movie starring Emma Stone in theaters. or via paid video-on-demand streaming services like Amazon and Apple TV. But that's about to change, as a Hulu streaming date has been announced.

Read on to see when 'Poor Things' will be available to watch on streaming services.

When is 'Poor Things' Hulu release date?

We already know that you can stream this movie in some places, because "Poor Things" is currently available to buy or rent on paid video-on-demand streaming services. It will then be released on Blu-ray and DVD two weeks later on March 12.

But before the movie is released on physical media you will be able to stream it on Hulu. "Poor Things" will start streaming on Hulu on March 7, just ahead of the Oscars on March 10 (h/t Variety).

So if you've been holding out to see this movie in theaters, you may just be able to wait until you can watch from the privacy of your own home. But regardless of how you see it, this movie is a must-watch. So either catch it on streaming or in theaters before it possibly is crowned the best movie of 2023.
