BEACH DAY BUCKET HAT CROCHET PATTERN

Round 1: ch 1, 8 sc in loop, pull loop closed tight, join to first sc with sl st (8 sc)

Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (16 sc)

Round 3: ch 1, *sc in 1 stitch, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (24 sc)

Round 4: ch 1, *sc in 2 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (32 sc)

Round 5: ch 1, *sc in 3 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (40 sc)

Round 6: ch 1, *sc in 4 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (48 sc)

Round 7: ch 1, *sc in 5 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (56 sc)

Round 8: ch 1, *sc in 6 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (64 sc)

Round 9: ch 1, *sc in 7 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (72 sc)

Round 10: ch 1, *sc in 8 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (80 sc)

The diameter should be approx. 5.25”. To make it larger add an additional increase round. Note that the desired diameter of the crown should be smaller when using sc rather than with dc or hdc.

Round 11 – 23: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (80 sc)

Change to Color B

Round 24 – 30: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (80 sc)

To add more length before starting the brim, continue with Color B until it’s the desired length

Change to Color A and 3.5 mm hook

Note: if you added an additional increase round, the end counts will not be the same

Round 31: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (80 sc)

Round 32: ch 1, *sc in 3 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (100 sc)

Round 33: ch 1, *sc in 4 stitches, 2 sc in next* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st (120 sc)

Round 34 – 39: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (120 sc)

Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
