Schön in den Kommentaren zu lesen, dass, zumindest in der 1. Staffel, so viel schnulziges und kitschiges vorkommt. Für mich ist das nach einer Staffel zu viel und ich werde die Serie nicht weiter schauen.
Bleibt nur noch über John zu reden, der weiße Mann mit Harvardabschluss. Die strahlende und tragische Figur war schon eine bedauernswerte Figur. Unfähig sich seinem eigener Weltansicht mit "Nichts geschieht ohne Grund" zu stellen, tötet er sich als gläubiger Christ selbst, weil sein hoch spekulatives Unterfangen in sich zusammenbrach und seine Familie hochverschuldet hinterließ. Der arme Patriachat, kein Verlass auf ihn.

ich bin zufällig auf diese Serie aufmerksam geworden und bin jetzt auch süchtig danach ,,,sicher ist in Staffel zwei mehr Herzschmerz aber was solls ... in dieser "" Pandemie muss eben halt dieser Herzschmerz her ..ich find es ausgesprochen entspannend auf der Couch zu liegen und diese Serie zu gucken und abzutauchen ......mehr davon .......

Das "wirkliche Leben" der allermeisten Menschen ist so langweilig weil gleichförmig, dass man das nicht verfilmen kann. Logisch, dass man deshalb eine Menge Probleme um die Darsteller herum konstruiert, die im "normalen" Leben vermutlich nicht einmal 100 Leute gemeinsam hätten. Familiengeschichten leben davon, dass die dargestellten Menschen Probleme haben oder bekommen, die kein normaler Mensch auch nur vom Hörensagen kennt. Ich finde auch die 2.Staffel sehr sehenswert, ich bin aber bei Serien sehr davon abhängig, wie sympathisch mir die Schauspieler sind. Das ist zwar kurios, weil man die ja nicht persönlich kennt und nie kennen lernen wird, aber trotzdem spielt das für mich eine große Rolle und Serien mit für mich unsympathischen Darstellern müssen schon sehr gut sein, dass ich sie mir ansehe. In dem Fall finde ich alle sympathisch und interessant, auch wenn manche Rollen nervig sind und man so einen Menschen im "echten Leben" vielleicht nicht unbedingt kennen möchte. Das ist aber natürlich auch Geschmackssache. Ich finde diese Serie zumindest genauso gut wie das vielprämierte "this is us", vielleicht sogar noch eine Spur besser und denke, auch diese Serie hätte viele Golden Globes verdient.
